About

Robert was born in Gloucestershire before moving to rural Oxfordshire in his youth. After a period in the RAF, Robert trained in accountancy, and his appreciation of the Arts provided an ideal escape from his role of making some sense from a carrier bag full of receipts!

Earlier in his life, Robert was heavily involved in the theatre, mainly on the stage but also directing and producing shows. At this time, his involvement in painting was more as a viewer, with a keen interest in Van Gogh, Monet and Cezanne.

Since moving to Dorset, Robert’s focus has switched from the theatre to painting, and he initially produced many pieces in watercolours and pastels. Now working predominantly in acrylics, Robert’s subject matter reflects the things he enjoys in life; the coast, boats, travel to far off places...

Robert exhibits around Dorset on a regular basis, and is enjoying a growth in popularity through sales of his vibrant paintings.
